Indonesia: raw cotton imports in 2023/24
Raw cotton imports totalled 35,675 tonnes in July, higher than the 31,625 delivered in the previous month but slightly below the 35,801 recorded a year earlier. Australia and Brazil accounted for 34 and 33 percent, respectively, while the United States supplied 20 percent.
The total for the 2023/24 season is 402,434 tonnes, higher than in 2022/23 but is nonetheless the second lowest in recent memory. Around 33 percent was sourced from Brazil, followed by Australia (32 percent), and the US (17 percent).
