US export sales top 200,000 bales for this season and 350,000 for next
During the week ended October 1, net export sales registrations of upland cotton for shipment during the current season amounted to 206,900 running bales, a 76 percent increase on the previous week. The main destinations were Mexico (128,100), Vietnam (18,200, including 1,800 switched from Taiwan, 1,000 switched from South Korea and a decrease of 200), Turkey (15,100), Taiwan (11,100) and El Salvador (8,100). A decrease was reported for Indonesia (1,400).
Net sales of 358,300 running bales for the 2016/17 marketing year were primarily for Mexico.
Export shipments of 126,600 running bales were reported to Indonesia (24,900), Mexico (19,000), Turkey (16,500) and South Korea (14,100).
Net sales of Pima totaling 3,000 running bales were reported for delivery in 2015/16. Increases were for Thailand (1,800), China (400), Japan (300) and Indonesia (300, switched from Japan).
