December futures ended virtually unchanged at 62.05 cts/lb (-3)
Nearby cotton futures opened lower and traded on a positive note for most of the day. Selling late in the session, however, drove prices downward before finding light support. The December contract traded from a low of 61.78 cts/lb to a high of 62.48 cts before settling at 62.05 cts/lb.
The price range for futures remained narrow throughout the session, with nearby contracts moving back and forth within a 70 cent-point range. All contracts, except December, ended the day slightly higher.
Total open interest decreased to 189,761 (-242) after Tuesday’s session. Certificated stocks increased slightly to 44,364 bales.
