India: local prices steady
The Cotton Corporation of India reports that total seed cotton arrivals since October 1 had risen to 3,746,000 bales by yesterday. Today’s independent estimate of deliveries is 81,000 lint equivalent bales, including 21,000 in the Northern Zone, 19,000 in Telangana and 16,000 in Maharashtra.
Offering rates are steady in the approach to the weekend. The mid-point of today’s prices for Shankar-6 is unchanged at ₹56,850 per candy, ex gin (87.15 cents per lb), while Punjab J-34 is quoted at around ₹5,600 per maund (81.80 cents per lb).
