India: local prices firm

Offering rates for Shankar-6 have risen slightly over the weekend. The mid-point of today’s prices is ₹61,600 per candy, ex gin (94.70 cents per lb). New crop J-34 is also firm at around ₹6,290 per maund (92.15 cents per lb).

Monday’s survey of arrivals indicates that around 29,600 lint equivalent bales were delivered to market today. The total includes 8,500 in Gujarat, 7,900 in the Northern Zone (old and new crop), and 5,000 in Maharashtra.
