Local offering rates for raw cotton are again easy today. Shankar-6 has fallen to an average of ₹33,150 per candy, ex gin (55.80 cents per lb at the prevailing exchange rate), while Punjab J-34 is quoted at ₹3,610 per maund (57.90 cents per lb).
Today’s private estimate of arrivals is 49,900 lint equivalent bales, including 22,000 in Maharashtra and 20,000 in Gujarat.
