Australia: July’s raw cotton exports


 

A total of 177,369 tonnes were shipped during July, up from a revised figure of 154,487 tonnes the previous month and just short of 35 percent above the 131,619 tonnes recorded in July 2016.

The main destination in July, once again, was China, which accounted for 47,980 tonnes, followed by Bangladesh (36,124), Vietnam (29,857), India (21,591), Turkey (15,364), Indonesia (10,670), Thailand (6,178), Malaysia (4,278), South Korea (2,194), Taiwan (1,642) and Japan (1,276). The combined shipments to Italy and Pakistan accounted for the 216 tonnes balance.
