Turkish imports in October
Raw cotton imports in October amounted to 55,400 tonnes, up from 47,415 the previous month, but below the 66,521 imported in October 2014. At 159,397 tonnes, the total for the first three months of the statistical season is on a par with the corresponding figure a year earlier.
The main suppliers during October were Greece and the United States, accounting for 13,931 and 13,675 tonnes, respectively. A further 9,725 tonnes were sourced from West Africa, 8,996 from Central Asia and 6,925 from Brazil.
