ICE futures trading lower, with December at 61.36 cts (-36) at 1500 GMT

Cotton futures opened lower today, amid a light volume. Nearby deliveries remained in a narrow price range during the early trading hours. Buyers soon entered the market, taking futures higher. Light selling was reported, and the spot month dipped lower.

Renewed support at the bottom helped push the December contract to an intraday high of 62.24 cts at around 1300 GMT. However, after failing to break through key price support levels, selling increased, and the nearby delivery fell to its low of 61.23 cts.

The front months remain near the bottom of their price range at 1500 GMT:

Dec 61.36 -36
Mar 61.29 -31
May 61.67 -48
