China: ZCE futures record modest gains
On the first day of trading after the protracted National Day holiday, cotton futures on the Zhengzhou Commodity Exchange (ZCE) settled a little higher in the key months, January, May and September, in which most turnover and open interest is concentrated.
Turnover was 129,630 contracts (of 5 tonnes each), only slightly less than that recorded on September 30. Open interest increased by 12,650 contracts to 480,062. At the close of business, the top 20 brokers were holding 176,591 long positions (+3,216) and 169,213 short positions (1,501).
The certified stock declined by 25 lots, to 129.
