China: ZCE prices gain ground
Cotton futures on the Zhengzhou Commodity Exchange (ZCE) increased across the board. The nearby May contract gained 60 yuan to settle at 13,035 yuan per tonne and the most active September contract was up by 120 yuan to finish at 13,370 yuan per tonne. The May/September spread widened to 335 yuan, while that for September/January narrowed to 340 yuan.
Turnover was 163,772 contracts (of 5 tonnes each), 4,684 more than yesterday. Open interest decreased by 16,302 contracts, to 345,192.
At the close of business, the top 20 brokers were holding 106,603 long positions (-5,508) and 122,618 short positions (-5,217).
The certified decreased to 1,071 lots (1 lot equals 185 bales, ±5).
