Pakistan: local prices remain steady
Stable conditions have been witnessed in the local cotton market. Although mill buying has remained selective, sellers have stuck with their asking rates, and firm Indian offering levels have added support. Turnover has been slightly subdued due to year-end considerations.
Business in better grades from Sindh and Punjab has been reported between Rs. 6,800/7,200 per maund, ex-gin, while asking rates for lower quality cotton (mainly from lower Sindh) have been quoted at Rs. 5,200/6,200 per maund, depending on quality.
